With December comes cold weather, but even better, it means rodeo season. Catch every second this year by choosing the right spot for your NFR Watch Party. 

So the deck the halls, put on your cowboy hat, and plan your wild week of cattle wranglin’ good times.

What Is NFR?

The National Finals Rodeo is an annual event sponsored and hosted by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association since 1958. It’s the pinnacle rodeo event of the year with cowboys across the United States competing not just for the title of champion, but the world-wide champion of rodeo sports.

The best of the best will face off in the rodeo’s seven main events:

• Steer wrestling
• Bull riding
• Saddle bronc riding
• Bareback bronc riding
• Barrel racing 
• Team roping
• Tie-down roping

Thomas & Mack

While the first NFR started in Dallas over 50 years ago, the competition has long since moved to Las Vegas, specifically, the Thomas & Mack Center.

If you can’t lasso in enough cash for the real-life experience for the 10-day event, there are many other viewing party options available. 

The Orleans

Just off the Strip, the Orleans is hosting “Rump’s Rodeo Party” with drink and food specials at the Honky Tonk Saloon. Those attending can also enter to win prizes and join cowboy-themed activities during the week.

The Linq

At the Linq December 8, get Jack Daniel’s rider’s autograph at The Book to show off to all your friends.

Silverton

For those on the outskirts or closer to Henderson, you can join the crowds at the Silverton’s Veil Pavilion. Listen to live and free entertainment during NFR week, starting after 6 p.m. and going past midnight.

Hard Rock Hotel

Every bar, including Goose Island Pub, will broadcast the NFR event. Expect drink specials and even more live music daily.

Fremont Street Experience

Speaking of live music, put on your dancing boots because the 32nd annual Downtown Hoedown will commence at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, December 5. The Hoedown will feature performances by Collin Ray, Haley & Michaels, and more.

Caesars Palace

Celebrate NFR like the Romans do: with a pre-party. Spanish Steps will have drink specials and a DJ along with rider appearances. Get the Crown Royal and the MillerCoors rider autographs throughout the week.

The Ultimate NFR Experience Downtown

Don’t miss a split second with the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center’s NFR watch party. From December 5 to December 14, spectators and rodeo-enthusiasts can catch every heart-stopping moment from a temperature-controlled tent with large viewing screens.

But that’s not all. Aside from the great drinks and seating options, fill your plate with some of the best grub in town. This free event will also have nightly entertainment to make your experience even more unforgettable. Be prepared to hit the dance floor with nightly drink specials and you may even hear some of your favorite line dance and two-stepping songs. 

Still not enough for you? The D will also host an afterparty where you can enter to win limited edition leather jackets.
