Metal’s hard-hitting sounds and virtuosic riffs are unrivaled in a stadium or concert setting. Here are a few of the heavy rock concerts coming your way.

August Burns Red – July 23

To celebrate their heavy metal tenure, August Burns Red hits the stage at the House of Blues Las Vegas for their 10 Years Constellations tour. Join the GRAMMY-nominated group on July 23.

Thrown into Exile – August 15

The LA-based metal band is heading to the Mandalay Bay Daylight Beach Club Thursday, August 15. Doors open at 12 p.m. and will showcase other local metal bands.

Skillet and Sevendust – August 31

Skillet and Sevendust co-headline for their “Victorious War” 2019 Tour, traveling across the US and visiting the House of Blues Labor Day Weekend.

Iron Maiden – September 13

The MGM Grand Garden Arena is the only stadium fit for the gladiators of metal. For their “Legacy of the Beast”  2019 tour, the maidens of metal will headline on September 13.

Las Rageous – October 18 & 19

The most popular heavy metal rock concert and festival the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center hosts is Las Rageous. It has featured bands like Five Finger Death Punch, A Day to Remember, Otherwise, and many more.

This fall, the epic metal festival is back with Rob Zombie, Bring Me the Horizon, The Used, and many more.

Slayer – November 27

Touted as their “Final Tour,” Slayer will stop by for one last unforgettable show at Vegas’s MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Retro Futura – July 26

80s rock concert lead singer

Retro Futura is one of those tours that doesn’t always make its way to Vegas yet it’s a hard one to miss if you love Belinda Carlisle and Modern English. This tour provides deep cuts to classic 80s and rock.

Cheap Trick – August 24

As part of their Free Summer Concerts, Collective Soul continues the downtown concert series Saturday, August 10.

Lost 80s Live – September 7

Lost 80s Live is back at the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center for the third year in a row. Featuring headliners like Flock of Seagulls, Missing Persons, Wang Chung, and more.

If you’re looking for more 80s concerts, the pianist and songwriter Elton John continues to perform at the T-Mobile Arena and Caesar’s Palace with his “Million Dollar Piano.”

Rock and Alternative

Here are the rising (and current) alternative and indie rock stars to go see this year.

Collective Soul – August 10

The Fremont Street Experience is hosting several different free concerts this year, and the quintet from the South will be playing at their outdoor venue on Saturday, August 10.

Buckcherry – August 17

As part of the Free Summer Concerts, Buckcherry continues the downtown concert series Saturday, August 10.

Young the Giant & Fitz and the Tantrums – August 16

This summer, Young the Giant & Fitz and the Tantrums co-headline at the DLVEC Friday, August 16. The indie and techno-rock collectives will be performing at the downtown venue with special guests Coin and Alice Merton. 

Both indie, alternative bands have new releases this year. Fitz and The Tantrums recently released a new single, “I Just Wanna Share” to promote their new album slated to hit music streaming services this September.

Papa Roach – September 1

As part of their “Who Do You Trust?” tour, Papa Roach will perform at the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center Labor Day Weekend. Rock bands Asking Alexandria and Bad Wolves are part of the tour as Papa Roach celebrate their 10th studio album release earlier this year.

Bite of Las Vegas Festival – September 14

A local favorite, part foodie festival and part music festival, Mix 94.1’s Bite of Las Vegas promises a delectable fun-filled day and evening with headliners like Rob Thomas, SHINEDOWN (Acoustic), and over 40 local and national eateries from which to choose.

A popular festival downtown that sends off our desert summer, Life Is Beautiful is September 20-22.

Muddfest – October 19

Another free concert on Fremont Street, Muddfest features Puddle of Mudd, Saliva, Trapt, Saving Abel, and Tantric.
