Best Stats and Moments from the Vegas Golden Knights Second Season

Knights Defeat Blues for Stanley Cup Spot

Going into the 2019 Stanley Cup, the Knights ranked third in the Western Conference. What clinched the spot for the team finally was game number 76 with another nail biter. Notwithstanding the ideal clinching scenarios, the Knights rose victorious.

Highest Goals Per Game Average

Averaging 4.33 goals per game, Vegas Golden Knights may not be leading the charge in wins but their goal average is enviable by many since the NHL league average itself is 2.83.

Mark Stone #61 Leads League with 8 Points

Vegas’s own Stone spearheads the NHL leaderboard with 8 points in the 2019 playoffs. His Game 3 hat trick throttled his standing amongst other kings of the ice.

2nd Highest “Shots for Per Game”

Just below the Carolina Hurricanes at 34.4, VGK misses the top spot by a decimal point with 34.3 percent. “Shots for” means the number of shots taken at the opposing team’s goal. Since the average NHL game has 60 shots on goal per game, the Golden Knights are averaging just over half of the shots per game.

Knights Catch a Win at Sharks Watering Hole

The Sharks have been season-long, formidable opponents. These teams have faced off 14 times since VGK began in 2017. The Vegas local team has defeated the San Jose team more than they’ve given up losses but have failed to beat them in the NHL ranks post-season.

Despite an upsetting Round 1 Game 1 loss, the Golden Knights leveled the playing field 1-1 in a win over San Jose for Game 2.

The Legend Continues

The best part? The Golden Knights are still carving up the ice with their Stanley Cup Round 1 victory over the San Jose Sharks. The echoes of triumph have hardly left fans ears as they ramp up for Game 5.
