What Is Reggae Rise up?
Reggae Rise up is an annual music festival celebrating good music and good vibes. Having started in 2011 in Saint Petersburg, Florida, the weekend-packed occasion only grew in popularity and has since expanded to other states, including Utah and Nevada.
With national fame, the festival occurs annually from coast to coast throughout the year, featuring popular bands and artists from Damian to Marley.
What to Expect
Like many music festivals, this event will feature more than just music. Festival-goers can expect the ultimate concert experience but also delectable food options and merchandise to commemorate the weekend. Enjoy art and activities for all ages and tastes.
2020 Lineup
The 2020 Reggae Rise Up lineup promises a whole weekend of fun and fantastic tracks. Here is the star-studded line up for both Saturday and Sunday.
Day One – Saturday, April 18
Starting the weekend off are the following reggae bands:
Slightly Stoopid
The headliners for day one are the San Diego, California band Slightly Stoopid. Crossing genre-boundaries with a fusion of reggae, folk, rock, and a few others, Slightly Stoopid will bring their unique sound to one of the main stages at the festival.
SOJA
Grammy-nominated reggae band originating back in the late 90s, SOJA is an 8-person band from Virginia.
Common Kings
Grammy award-winning artists, Common Kings first launched their career with Lost in Paradise and Billboard-topping hits.
HIRIE
Reggae girl and artist, Hirie has made some waves in the genre since her self-titled debut album in 2013. She is touring nationally after releasing her 3rd album, Dreamer.
The Movement
American Reggae band from South Carolina, The Movement has been playing since 2004. They released their seventh album Ways of the World last year and continue to tour nationally.
Mike Love
With message-based music mixing Reggae and Rastafari, Mike Love blends the sounds of progressive and classic rock, R&B, soul, blues, and more for a memorable performance.
Day Two – Sunday, April 19

Dirty Heads
Also from California, Dirty Heads will headline the final night of Reggae Rise up. They recently released their 7th album Super Moon late in 2019 so you can catch some of their latest songs live.
J-Boog
J-Boog is an R&B rapper from Compton and a member of the popular group B2K.
Matisyahu
American Jewish performer, Matthew Paul Miller, or more well-known by his Hebrew name, Matisyahu is a highly sought after alternative, reggae artist.
Collie Buddz
Collie Buddz is a Bermudian reggae artist famous for his single “Come Around.”
Fortunate Youth
Inspired by Bob Marley and Grateful Dead, rock and reggae group Fortunate Youth has been around since 2009.
Iya Terra
Iya Terra is an LA band driven by their love of positivity and their passion for traditional roots reggae.
